Mackay Surf Life Saving Club conducts volunteer patrols on weekends and public holidays from September to May. Last season they provided 2,309 patrol hours, performed 335 preventative actions, and administered first aid to 24 beachgoers.
The Club plans to use the grant funds to subsidize the registration and training for 10 members ($100pp) to complete their Bronze Medallion training.
